Are Your Children Proud Of You?

Grandchildren are the crowning glory of the aged; parents are the pride of their children. (Proverbs 17:6 NLT)

Today's Prayer
Almighty, You are the Alpha and the Omega; the beginning and the end. Help me to recognize that just as I behold You, children behold me too. I pray that I can be everything that they need me to be. Everything that they aspire to be. Everything that they desire to role model. Everything that their habits reflect. Lord, I need help with living up to the responsibility that You have blessed me with. You chose me to be a parent or made me a guardian for a reason. It is hard sometimes. You made me their influence for a cause beyond my understanding. I ask and pray that I will always cherish them and value them as treasures that You have entrusted to me. I pray that I can be an inspiration to them, and help them to believe that they can achieve more than what seems probable or possible. Thank You for the children. Amen and so it is.

My Child
What is it my child
What is bothering you
I can see it in your eyes
Come on, you can tell me the truth

Oh, you saw me
I didn't think you knew
Well, just do what I say
Not, do what I do

Oh, you heard me
Well, that's too bad
We are the adults, and
Sometimes, that's how moms talk to dads

I just had a few too many
What do you want me to say
I didn't mean to embarrass you
Alright, I'll try not to do it again today

What is it my child
What is bothering you
I can see it in your eyes
Come on, you can tell me the truth
